Dear Nosomosrubios,
Yesterday was a historic day.As you may have heard, the Senate passed an immigration reform bill with a vote of 68 to 32.
This is a huge development, and everyone from media pundits to political figures will be analyzing the bill in the next few days.
But do you know what's actually in the bill?
Along with partner organization CultureStrike, we created this infographic that breaks down the good, the bad, and the downright ugly.
What’s in this bill will directly affect the lives of 11 million people, yet only a few media outlets are reporting the pretty awful stuff that is included with the promise of legalization. That's why it's so critical that we get the word out about the whole picture.
Can you help spread this information far and wide by sharing this image?

Together, we fought hard to push the Senate to keep a humane solution for 11 million immigrants at the center of reform rather than punishment and criminalization.
Presente.org members made over 500 calls on Monday to Senators urging them to oppose the Corker-Hoeven amendment to the bill that would drastically militarize the border and pump billions more into unmanned drones, surveillance equipment, and radar systems developed by the military for war.
Our voice of opposition even made it into the New York Times, USA Today, and other media outlets all over the country.
Though Senators agreed not to attach further right-wing amendments to the bill due to all the pressure, they still passed Corker-Hoeven. Border communities are outraged. If this were enacted into law, immigrants would be criminalized, millions would be left out of a pathway to legalization, and we’d have more Border Patrol on the US border than in North Korea.
As the bill heads to the House, we'll be in touch with bold plans to keep fighting for ALL 11 million to be included, keep demanding better for our country than Corker-Hoeven, and never stop shining a light on the deportations tearing apart our communities.
And the first step is making sure Latinos and our allies stay informed of what is actually in this bill.
Click here to share the infographic. It’s the most effective way you can make that happen.
Thanks and ¡adelante!
